Curious about how often I do what & when? Well, here you go! My hair diary. This is what I do.
You can click on the event name (ie “Dry Shampoo” or “Argan Oil”) to get details about the process I used.
I do brush my hair everyday with a regular hairbrush from a drug store. Other than that, everything I do to my hair is listed in this calender.
Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
I washed my hair with rye flour and some essential oils (about 2 tablespoons rye flour, 2 drops each of ylang ylang & rosemary essential oils, and a couple tablespoons of water to form a paste). Read more about rye flour here.
Bentonite clay mask:
- Equal parts Kombucha and bentonite clay (I did about 1/4 cup each which was enough for my face and my hair) with 3 drops of rosemary essential oil
- Note: I usually use apple cider vinegar instead of kombucha. Both are acidic.
- Left on for about 30 minutes
- Rinsed out & let air dry
Before I went no poo, I did not like bentonite clay for my hair. It always left my hair stiff and it felt dirty. Bentonite clay does detox your hair, so I think my hair was detoxing. Now I love it!

I scritched & preened this morning with a boar bristle brush. See details on how to do that here.
I used a little dry shampoo today. See the recipe here: http://thecrunchymoose.com/dry-shampoo/
I scritched & preened this morning with a boar bristle brush. See details on how to do that here. And it was a messy bun day.
I did a henna hair rinse. I used this henna. Henna is a deep conditioner. The dark brown color is close to my natural color and didn’t change the color much. I slept in headband curls overnight. This is the next day:
I did an egg wash today. I mixed 3 egg yolks (leftover from a cookie recipe that used the whites) and therapeutic grade essential oils (2 drops each of lavender and ylang ylang).
